MATT AUER
Matt was a fun-loving guy who enjoyed making
people laugh. Starting as a young boy, Matt enjoyed drawing. He
became interested in photography at Broadneck High School, and
his interest continued into his college years at the University
of Maryland. Matt’s eye for beauty is reflected in his photography
and poetry.
In May, 2004 at 21 years of age, Matt died suddenly
and unexpectedly of cardiac arrhythmia during a study-abroad program
at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. While abroad, using
a digital camera the size of a deck of cards, he took all of the
pictures in our 2006 selection.
Matt had a strong passion for life
and a constant desire to experience it to the fullest. He had a
compassionate soul and he always strived to find the good in people.
We celebrate his life’s journey
through starting a scholarship fund for Broadneck High School seniors.
We believe that Matt would be thrilled to both encourage other
young photographers and to see his work displayed. Matt was a responsible,
loving adult who died too young. We believe that Matt asks that
we continue to live for each other in happiness with large doses
of love and humor. |
