DANA BROCIOUS
Dana Brocious was awarded the Matt Auer Memorial Scholarship in 2006. The photographs that she submitted for the scholarship were black and white photos of a pair of hands and a winding street.
Dana's interests in photography started in high school when she inherited her dad's old camera. While initially focusing on black and white photography, her interests expanded over the years to include digital manipulation and color photos. She enjoys taking close up photos to create abstract or nonobjective pieces out of familiar subjects. Building her senior portfolio helped her realize her goal of developing her passion for photography and art into a career.
Dana is currently attending Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts with a major in graphic design and a minor in photography and other multimedia studies. The city opens up a whole new realm of inspiration for her and offers opportunities to learn from some of the best in her field of art. While she is still unsure of what discipline she will ultimately pursue, her perfect situation after college would be as a graphic designer for a clothing or music company with a freelance photography business on the side.
