2007 MATT AUER SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

HILARY FISHER

Hillary Fisher was awarded the Matt Auer Memorial Scholarship for excellence in Photography in 2007,  She submitted two black and white photographs.  One was of an old bike covered in vines, leaning against a cracked wall, and the other, a silhouette of a female statue taken in a museum.

Hillary has always loved taking pictures.  But it wasn’t until her freshman year of high school, when she was given her Aunt’s old camera, that Hillary realized that photography could be more than just a fun hobby.  She takes black and white photos as well as color.  Hillary has a great passion for photography and loves taking pictures of nature, water and abstract items.

Hillary plans on attending Anne Arundel Community College in the fall of 2007,  She will focus on photography and other related subjects,  Hillary is undecided on where she will be transferring after 2 years at AACC, but she knows that whatever she does, it will include photography.

BLAKELY MILLER

Blakely Miller has a true passion for photography. Taking her first photo class freshman year of high school, she is now pursuing her dream of becoming a professional photographer at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.

Blakely began with simple black and white photographs, and bloomed into an amateur digital photographer experimenting with color and digital manipulation. She often is finding something beautiful in anything around her and capturing it through a camera lens.

Blakely is still discovering new photographic techniques because she is unsure of what focus she will pursue, but her ideal future holds a job with a prestigious magazine taking photographs and creating layout designs.
