STEFAN GIROUX
I started photography my sophomore year at Broadneck High School. I was encouraged to take
the class by my mother. I ended up really enjoying photography class because of the processing
involved. Developing my own film and prints gave
a lot more control over the whole process, and that was what made it interesting. After sophomore year,
I decided to continue on to Photo 2, 3, and then
AP
2d design. Over those 2 years, I started to work more with the computer, and with other techniques incorporated into photography.
Nowadays, I tend to lean toward the digital side for
final processing. I just can't seem to find natural compositions that are good enough for me, so I do
my best to create or change them. Either way, right
now I'm trying my best to learn new techniques that
I can apply to my art.
I plan to attend Anne Arundel Community College for 2 years, and then transfer to the University of Maryland. I plan to major in engineering because it is my other hobby next to music and art. In the future, photography will be a hobby of mine, and I plan on taking classes in college as electives. There is still plenty of time to learn all that I can.
LAUREN ROCK
I suppose I caught the photography bug from my
dad. I have always enjoyed documenting events
with photographs and video. I was able to cultivate
my interests in my freshman photography class
where my instructor, Mrs. Bisby, helped me discover the power and potential of the medium.
I enjoy the tactile beauty of film but also the versatility of digital. Portraits and landscapes are favorites, but the art of capturing and telling the story through the lense remains my passion.
I will be attending the School of Photographic Arts
and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology
this fall in the Photojournalism program. Wherever
life takes me, my camera will be my guide.
